PREPARING FOR THE IMPENDING GPhC EXAMINATION ~ 2014

GPhC Exam 2104 SCOPE

In order to fully register as a pharmacist in the United Kingdom you need to encompass the following two criteria, by your pre-reg tutor:

1. A satisfactory 39 week sign off
This entails having successfully completed 4 5weeks within a registered pre-reg pharmacy and achieving a satisfactory 39 week sign off ( final progress report ). You will have aimed to achieve this following the constructive feedback of both the 13th and 26th week  progress reports, which are carried out collaboratively between tutor and trainee, demonstrating that you have the ability to perform with a professional attitude and competent manner, as a would-be practising pharmacist. This is assessed through objective competency standards which are both written and observational. A satisfactory sign-off will enable automatic entry to the assessment examination.

2. To successfully pass the assessment (two sittings twice a year - the last Friday in June and September) achieving a pass mark of 70% as an average in both the closed  and open book papers including 70% in the calculation paper.
